Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire 1st shift Structural Welder/Fabricator Lead job in Syracuse, NY for a Steel Fabrication production facility. The Welder will help oversee production while also using metal fabrication skills to ensure timely delivery of customer orders. You will assist the Production Manager with oversight of plant production, including production planning, team, quality, safety, and shipping and receiving. You should have experience in steel metal fabrication, with MIG welding, Press Brake and Laser cutting experience. With your dedication to deliver product on time and free of any defects, you will become a key player for the success and growth of the company. Responsibilities for the Lead Welder Fabricator Job in Syracuse, NY include:

• Assist the Operations Manager with supervising and overseeing plant production, quality and safety.
• Weld and Fabricate Structural Steel
• Perform tasks on production lines including metal fabrication, cutting, bending, welding, shipping and receiving.
• Evaluate work areas to make changes necessary to ensure optimal use of manpower and equipment.
• Fabricates by burning, cutting and welding various metals.
• Work closely with the Operations Manager on facility daily performance and issues, project management and performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and motivate workforce by communicating company policies, procedures, operational changes, etc.; counsel and discipline employees as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Lead capacity in a steel or metals transformation field; hands-on experience with welding (MIG) is very important with Press Brakes, Laser Cutters and other metals fabrication experience strongly desired.
• Must be able to work in the United Sates.
• Experience in the architectural products industry experience is a plus!
• Great customer service and communication skills
• 3 + Years of experience in welding
• Computer skills: word processing software, spreadsheet software, order processing software, manufacturing software is a plus!
