Emerge is actively recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Manufacturing Engineer job in Erie, PA for our client, a growing manufacturer of quality products. The Manufacturing Engineer will work with both Product Engineering and Production and will support lean manufacturing and process improvements. The Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for the processing of new tooling/products and overseeing the transition of new products into production. Candidates should have experience with plant layout design, safety and lean manufacturing/continuous improvement. Our client offers a base salary, benefits package, and opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities for the Design Engineer Job in Erie, PA include:

• Transition of new products from engineering into manufacturing with regard to training, work center development, product testing, quality and material flow.
• Drive cost reduction and quality improvement programs.
• Provide direct input and support of documenting required processes in detailed step-by-step process instructions, write procedures and implement their usage. This includes updates of process methods in the ERP system.
• Implement engineering change notices (ECN) where required for product and process improvements.
• Support and perform various manufacturing process improvements – equipment upgrades and troubleshooting support, new equipment installation, tooling design & improvements, etc.
• Promote and support Lean process improvements throughout all processes.
• Promote a safe work environment and improve overall work environment.
• Provide CAD support for plant layouts and basic fixture and tool designs.

Qualifications:

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Basic construction skills required.
• Ability and desire to work in a very hands-on role.
• Knowledge of advanced materials and processes is a plus.
• Goal oriented individual with strong communication and leadership skills
