Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Project Engineer job in Twinsburg, OH for our client, a global manufacturer of quality automotive components. The Project Engineer is responsible for working with client designs of precision rubber molds for various molding processes. The Project Engineer will work with clients, facilitating timely engineering of molds, maintaining quality systems, working with production teams and fellow Project Engineers to review new molds and tooling, assist with contracting out mold designs and troubleshooting issues, and the process from new design to final production. This position offers a salary of $80,000 to $85,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Responsibilities for the Project Engineer Job in Twinsburg, OH include:

• Design precision rubber molds and applicable tooling for elastomer parts and seals.
• Review and define customer drawings in collaboration with Project Engineers, Process Engineers, and the Manager of Engineering.
• Interface with customers regarding part and mold designs and support QSR sales.
• Facilitate timely engineering of molds and accessory tooling.
• Provide quotations on estimated tooling costs, mold designs, and layouts.
• Create purchase orders for molds and other tooling designs.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of and act in accordance with quality systems.
• Utilize SolidWorks and AutoCAD for rubber 3D and 2D mold design.
• Work with Process Technicians to maintain, review, and revise processes and procedures to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Review work order and procedural manuals to determine design dimensions.
• Actively participate in APQP teams, Continual Improvement teams, and promote quality standards of TS16949. Maintain engineering files.
• Participate in new product development with engineering and manufacturing personnel.
• Work closely with tooling and outside mold shops to ensure optimal mold design and build to achieve zero rework.
• Follow up on all projects to ensure continual improvement and progression of plans to defined schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; or working towards a B.S.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with rubber or silicone.
• Experience in tool design and processing of HCR (High Consistency Rubber) and LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber) materials.
• Expertise in wasteless/flashless tool design and processing.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
