Job Description:

Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Technical Services Director job in Del Rio, TX/Acuna, Mexico for our growing, heavy industrial client. The Technical Director will be based in Texas and work in the client’s Maquilla. MX plant and be responsible for the technical aspects of the manufacturing operations: Engineering, Tooling, Maintenance and Facilities. This position will report to the plant manager of the operation. We are seeking candidates that are seeking to expand their leadership career in manufacturing. Candidate should have the following skills: Bilingual Spanish/English, valid USA passport and able to travel daily between the USA and Mexico. Our client is seeking a minimum of five (5) years of experience in leading engineering/manufacturing. Our client offers a base salary of $140,000 to $165,000 per year plus a 12% bonus an excellent benefits program that includes bonus plan. A relocation package is available.

 

Responsibilities for the Technical Services Manager job in Del Rio, TX/Acuna, Mexico:

 

  • Oversight of the technical departments in a large manufacturing plant including Engineering, Maintenance, Tooling and Facilities.
  • Lead with expertise, translating complex information into actionable strategies while balancing hands-on involvement with high-level planning.
  • Identify and prioritize key business challenges, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders to anticipate and meet evolving needs.
  • Proactively plan and implement long-term strategies that drive business growth, focusing on sustainable improvements over quick fixes.
  • Independently drive continuous Improvement and lean initiatives, aligning teams with business goals without requiring significant oversight.
  • Oversee multiple projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery while empowering teams to succeed.
  • Serve as a liaison between stakeholders, providing clear updates and building trust through consistent and reliable communication.
  • Foster a positive, mission-driven environment, encouraging collaboration across the organization.
  • Identify and resolve roadblocks, ensuring continuous momentum and supporting others in achieving goals.
  • Uphold high standards and advocate for continuous improvement, managing challenges without compromising on quality or deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in an Engineering principle (Mechanical, Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgy, etc.).
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Technical Services projects and at least 1 year of managerial experience of technical personnel in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual English-Spanish.
  • ISO/AS9100, NADCAP certification is a plus!
  • Strong knowledge of Casting Operations Processes is highly preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft package & PC skills.
  • Requires travel and overtime availability.
  • US & Mexico Maquila Manufacturing background experience is a plus!
